Not such a good idea: the two faced top

In every shop it swaggers, both casual and refined, showcasing its assets, waiting for you to buy it… the two faced top.

I am sure you’ve already met, maybe he has even already nested in your closet.

Let me introduce you to him. He is a bi material lad, looking dressy on the front and low-key on the back and sometimes sleeves.

Seems like the perfect match for the engagement reluctant shopper. Be chic yet comfortable. Hell yeah! This fashion machiavel encounters great success. I seem to find it each time I do a closet editing.

Great for the brand, who enjoys creating expensive looking pieces whilst sparing the costs by half.

Yet to be honest, I have to tell you, he’ll disappoint you:

  • he’ll never make you really look chic
  • neither look cool (trying to hard to know…)
  • if his two side have a different color pattern he his tough to match
  • your outfit will be boring from the back
  • you’ll look like you are wearing an apron
  • both side have different requirement in term of washing (pffff)
  • they’ll age at different paths… by the time you know it the cotton of the back will be loose and sad while the silk from the front will still look like the first day

Eco conscious malus: you have to dismantle it to recycle it, so I bet, it won’t be.

Ladies, know that you’ve been introduced, don’t let this casual seducer get you ^^

And you? What do you think about the two faced top?

Ah!

Alois, this is so true. I have had tops like this before and you are very correct in all you say. Your wise advice has given me the firmness to resist all temptation to purchase another.

    Thanks

  3. Bonjour Alois! 😉 I haven’t tried it, yet! 😉
