How to shine in the daytime?
Now that the sun is not that shiny anymore, it is your turn to enlighten the days with luminous clothes.
As well as with your bright mind, of course^^
But how to pull out sequins, metallic fabrics, foil or lurex during daytime without looking overdressed?
Follow the guide!
1/ How much shine?
a. Start with shiny details
They are perfect to dress up an outfit and make it pop!
As you’ll see in the pics below, one is often enough 🙂
If you wanna use two or more, do not match them. For instance if you have gold shoes, a gold scarf will look uncool. Rather mix it with a metallic green or blue one for instance.

– Bag
– Socks

b. Dare wear a big shiny item
– Shiny item with sophisticated shape
And other stories
This kind of item will make your outfit look very sophisticated. Therefore, do not forget to dress it down with casual items such as the basic grey sweater above.

For instance, the cut of the above sweater already makes it look daytime-ready and cool.
Isn’t it great?
Still, the better option for daytime is to keep the rest of the look on the basic side.
c. Wear alternative shiny colors
There are other way to shine than using gold or silver.
And that is a good thing to remember cause they are not as bold.
2. Casual up your shine
Use casual items with raw fabric, loose cuts or fun prints to balance.

– Do not take it too seriously
And just like this lady, wear natural or no-makeup and out of the bed hair.
3. What shine for my bodytype?
As you may have noticed, the shine enlarges the body.
Therefore I advise you to wear it on the thinner parts of your body.
For instance, a pear shaped woman will look great with a sequin blazer, or top but should avoid shiny pants (ok, ok, leggings are the worst for any human being anyway) or skirt (doesn’t BB look way better in the sequin jacket in the first link?).
On the opposite, if you do not like you stick thin legs, that’s a great way to make them look more curvy.
If you do not feel so comfy with glitters, go for accessories as seen in 1.a. Trust me a shiny scarf will make you look as fab as pants or jacket.
I was so desperate to find a shiny scarf on pinterest that I used this pic of me… BUT if you notice this NOT matching pink thing I tried to hide, this is not something I chose, I just have to wear it for my second job as a tour guide ^^

And you? What shiny item do you wear in the daytime?

Ha ha I was just thinking of buying some glittery espadrilles! My shiny thing at present is matte gold leather heels with powder blue and red piping around the vamp and tan toe caps. They are by Chie Mihara and I love them and have been wearing them with everything. This is such a cute post and I love your very own photo! You look gorgeous : )
Thanks Justine, Happy you like my pic (posing is not my thing ^^). And I looove Chie Miharas <3
Not a huge fun of daytime metallics… What do you think of mat silver handbag with distressed denim?
It could work!
Très jolie sélection!
